Strap on your shield

Join me as we explore the world of tanking in Elder Scrolls Online together.

I’ve been tanking in an Australian-based progression guild with a great bunch of people for quite some time now. I was fortunate enough for the leaders of Latency Rising to take me on-board, put me through my paces, and allow me to learn the role of trial tanking in ESO.

Tanking is a challenging role…and very visible when you get it wrong. It requires heavy investment in many gear sets, situational awareness, resilience, patience, theory-crafting, and the ability to laugh at yourself when you go down in flames. Whilst you can learn some basics in vet dungeons, often the only time you can learn trial tanking is when you’re in the trial itself…which can certainly create some pressure when everyone is relying on you. We don’t have enough trial-ready tanks in the game in my opinion because of this.

When my guild mates put their hand up to try tanking I’ve found myself answering many of the same questions or correcting the same misconceptions over and over again…and realise that I’ve taken for granted the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the journey.

Let’s get started!

Whilst I don’t pretend to be the best (or even good), I’ve put this site together to help those who would like to tackle the most challenging and rewarding role in the game.

Let’s get to it!
